*The year 2014 has already begun; it is the year of the centenary of the 
Covenant of Love and of the Blessed Mother's presence in the Schoenstatt 
Shrine.  It is a year of graces, and from the organizational team of the 
Mary's Crusade, we want to share this beautiful news with all the 
Schoenstatters.*

*Pope Francis celebrated the Eucharist on the first day of the year at 
St. Peter's Basilica on the feast day of the Solemnity of Mary, Mother 
of God and the 47th World Day of Peace.  The Holy Father dedicated his 
homily to Mary, the mother of God and the mother of all mankind and 
asked those present to repeat the Blessed Mother's title three times: 
"Mother of God, Mother of God, Mother of God." After Mass, in order to 
commemorate Our Lady's feast day, and prior to the Angelus, Pope Francis 
called for peace and said that we are called to take note of the 
violence and injustice that exists in many parts of the world that 
cannot leave us "indifferent and unmoved" because "everyone must be 
committed to building a society of justice and solidarity." The starting 
point for his speech was a letter that he had received the day before.*

*A temporary place for the altar of the future Shrine of Montevideo

*For a quite some time, the Montevideo Schoenstatt Family has longed for 
building a Shrine, a new Shrine for Uruguay, which will be the country's 
second one (after the first daughter Shrine at a world-wide level, in 
Nueva Helvecia). There is still no place to build it, but they already 
have the altar that was conquered and imported from the city of Santa 
Maria, Brazil, with the local contribution of many faithful; it is the 
last one made by the Brothers of Mary in this country.*

*It is the announced night, Christmas Eve, the Holy Night, waiting for 
of the birth of the Savior.  Participation in the Holy Mass in the 
Shrine of La Molina took place first before sharing the arrival of the 
Little Child Jesus with family and friends.*

*One more time this year, youths of Madrid's Schoenstatt Movement wanted 
to bring a ray of hope from the Shrine to families and people who really 
are in need. Since Christmas 2002, the Schoenstatt Boys' and Girls' 
Youth of Madrid have been doing this with the cooperation of the 
families around the Shrines of Pozuelo and Serrano and the Monte Tabor 
School. The following are testimonies we gathered in order to share at

was a pleasant surprise; it was one of the many surprises during 2013.*

*"Family Pride" and the Career Leaps of the MTA Picture

*The feast of the Holy Family makes it clear that Christmas is not just 
a family celebration for "social" and emotional reasons. This is all the 
more true of our Schoenstatt Family! Already in the early years in 
Schoenstatt the sodalists of the Marian Sodality -- that is, those who 
were unable to go home in the Christmas holidays -- tried through their 
behaviour and their contributions to the Christmas celebrations to 
create a family. In addition, their Spiritual Director, Fr Kentenich, 
showed them the spiritual context of being a family.*
