pessoas estiveram na Praça de São Pedro respondendo ao chamamento do Papa
Francisco no Ângelus do passado domingo quando convocou para 7 de setembro uma
jornada de jejum e oração pela paz na Síria, no Médio Oriente e em todo o mundo
à luz das circunstâncias dramáticas que atravessa a Síria. Desde esse dia foram
muitas as adesões a uma iniciativa que foi aplaudida não só por católicos mas
por outras confissões cristãs, pelos que pertencem a outras religiões, desde
budistas a judeus e muçulmanos e também por aqueles que não pertencem a nenhuma
religião. Foram mobilizadas paróquias e associações, Cáritas e a Comunidade de
Santo Egídio, grupos de oração e ordens religiosas como as Carmelitas descalças
da Terra Santa; presidentes de autonomias regionais, organizações pela paz,
cooperações, sindicatos, etc…</FONT></FONT></SPAN></B></P>

que temos para construir um mundo conforme a vontade de Deus, na força do
Espírito e no caminho de Cristo. Cardeais e bispos, sacerdotes, religiosos e
religiosas, noviços e seminaristas, famílias, jovens e idosos, comunidades e
instituições têm recebido a proposta de sair “às ruas”, de levar não uma
esperança utópica, mas concretizada em atos, em projetos evangelizadores de vida
do ser humano, esteja onde estiver; mesmo que na “periferia”, com todos os
riscos e perigos envolvidos. <SPAN

uma igreja acidentada porque sai a servir, do que uma Igreja enferma por

sábado dia 7 de setembro no Vaticano. Uma convocatória à qual se une toda a
Igreja católica no Médio Oriente. Uma convocatória que teve uma forte
repercussão nos Movimentos dos Focolares, Sant’Egídio e Comunione e Liberarione
que convocaram todos os seus membros a participar. Uma convocatória à qual se
uniram chefes de estado como Evo Morales da Bolívia e Nicolás Madruo, da
Venezuela. Grupos evangélicos dos Estados Unidos e da Europa Central também se
unirão à iniciativa e, o mais relevante, todas as mesquitas da Síria. Uma
convocatória à qual se poderia juntar o grande Mufti da Síria, Ahmad Badreddin
Hassou. Em aliança solidária com Francisco, centenas de schoenstattianos –
começando com os madrugadores de Córdoba e o dreamteam de schoenstatt.org –
começaram a mobilizar o movimento e as suas paróquias e dioceses para se unirem
a este clamor universal pela paz… em orações e ações
