Igreja está em Roma – eu também estou – porém, de uma perspectiva
particular. Neste momento, aguardando pela audiência do Papa, estou nos
estúdios da TV EWTN, na cidade de Birmingham, Alabama/EUA. A cena chega a ser
engraçada – as pessoas se movimentam, preparando calmamente todo o equipamento
técnico – o set está pronto; há uma equipe de 35 pessoas presentes em Roma para
esse evento – estou sentado em um sofá que fica do outro lado do estúdio, com um
copo de café na mão (aqui na América, são agora 3 horas da manhã) – a vida por
aqui está voltada para a sala em Roma. Apenas para vocês saberem – eu fui
convidado para comandar a equipe daqui para momentos de oração antes do início

celebrada a Santa Missa “Rumo a 2014”, desta vez “em aliança” com um projeto do
campo apostólico de Pedagogia: o Colégio José Engling em Quito, Equador. Esta
instituição surgiu do desejo dos pais que queriam que os seus filhos recebessem
uma educação adequada para poder enfrentar os desafios do mundo de hoje. O
Colégio José Engling baseia a sua pedagogia no conceito pedagógico do P.
Kentenich e faz parte da grande rede de escolas e colégios na América Latina que
formam os estudantes segundo a proposta do P. Kentenich e a pedagogia de
Schoenstatt. O trabalho na instituição realiza-se num estreito vínculo entre
padres, família, professores, pessoal educativo e pastoral do

jovem entra no banco levando nas suas mãos uma caderneta de poupança um pouco
antiquada. “Encontrei-a por acaso numa caixa que não abria há muito tempo”,
disse. Era um presente que os seus avós lhe deram quando era pequena. “Ainda é
válida?, perguntou. “Sim, ainda é, e tem um saldo impressionante”,
responderam-lhe. Sorrindo e emocionada, a jovem respondeu: “Tu, caderneta de
poupança humilde e quase esquecida, agora vais servir para realizar o meu
sonho…”. Num 18 de Outubro de 1914, o Padre Kentenich disse aos jovens reunidos
naquele Santuário “que se encontrava desde há muito, mais ou menos abandonado e
vazio” algo sobre “uma ação apostólica maior”, vinculada para sempre a este
lugar… Algo do pobre lugar de Belém onde nasceu o Salvador do mundo ressoa nas
suas palavras: a convicção e experiência de que tantas vezes “na história do
mundo foi o pequeno e insignificante a origem do grande, do

Marie Šťastná (7.10.1922 – 9.02.2013) regressou à Casa do Pai eterno; foi a
primeira Irmã de Maria de Schoenstatt tcheca. Com 17 anos convenceu a mãe que
queria ir para Schoenstatt para ai ingressar na Comunidade das Irmãs de Maria. A
Segunda Guerra Mundial já se encontrava em pleno curso. Em janeiro de 1941,
partiu com destino a Schoenstatt, levando consigo o enxoval que havia conseguido
graças à generosidade de muitos. Em agosto de 1941 recebeu, a horas mortas, a
veste de Irmãs de Maria. Quando, meses mais tarde, selou a Aliança de Amor
juntamente com o seu curso, o Padre Kentenich encontrava-se preso em Coblença,
Alemanha.</FONT></FONT></SPAN></B></P>

marcado por duas notícias que nos comovem como Família de Schoenstatt. A
primeira é a que nos foi comunicada no dia 2 de fevereiro. As negociações com os
Palotinos para conseguir que o Santuário Original passe para nossas mãos
esfriaram e isso nos inquieta profundamente. A segunda notícia é a que recebemos
no dia 11 de fevereiro, quando o Papa comunicou à sua Igreja que renunciava a
seu ministério: <EM><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: ">"Queridos irmãos, como sabeis,
decidi renunciar ao ministério que o Senhor me confiou no dia 18 de abril de
2005. O que fiz foi com plena liberdade, para o bem da Igreja, depois de ter
rezado bastante, e de examinar minha consciência diante de Deus, bem consciente
da gravidade da decisão"</SPAN></EM>. Uma decisão dessas nos comove e nos
