deixar o pontificado a 28 de Fevereiro. O anúncio foi feito hoje, em latim,
durante o Consistório para a canonização dos mártires de Otranto. “Depois de ter
examinado repetidamente a minha consciência diante de Deus, cheguei à certeza de
que as minhas forças, devido à idade avançada, já não são idóneas para exercer
adequadamente o ministério petrino”, disse Bento XVI. Em gratidão, pedimos à Mãe
do Céu que interceda diante de Deus pelo Santo Padre, pelo seu sucessor e por

das negociações do Santuário Original fizeram-me refletir sobre aquilo que
estamos a lutar, mas também me fizeram pensar sobre a minha história pessoal e o
meu vínculo atual com o Santuário Original. Quando primeiro conheci Schoenstatt,
ouvi falar do Santuário Original e, na minha compreensão limitada da vida do
movimento naquele momento, pareceu-me pouco mais do que um lugar histórico. A
minha primeira visita ao Santuário Original foi em 2000. Penso que me encontrava
ainda pouco sensibilizada para reconhecer o Santuário Original por aquilo que
realmente é. O vínculo pessoal e real ao Santuário Original desenvolveu-se
quando vivi naquele lugar de graças durante nove meses. Através da graça
presente no nosso lugar de origem a minha visão foi transformada. Agora, para
mim, o Santuário Original não é mais um lugar circunscrito ao tempo e à
distância. Hoje o Santuário Original vive dentro de

a Família de Schoenstatt da diocese de Munique-Freising e Augsburgo peregrinou a
Dachau, como fazem há anos neste dia comemorativo da decisão do Padre Kentenich
de renunciar a todos os meios humanos que o poderiam ter salvo do campo de
concentração; peregrinaram a Dachau, o lugar onde o Padre Kentenich e a aliança
de amor - núcleo do seu carisma e da sua fundação - passaram a sua prova de
resistência em condições extremas. Para o Padre Kentenick, o sinal para partir,
sabendo que a aliança em Dachau toca todas as possibilidades imagináveis de
sofrimento e crueldade humana e onde o seu poder criativo foi demonstrado
justamente neste lugar, não podia esperar mais. O passo de 31 de Maio, com tudo
o que chegou a ser realidade em Schoenstatt e depois o seu envio à Igreja e aos
homens de hoje em dia, foi preparado em Dachau.</FONT></FONT></SPAN></B></P>
