Happy 18^th , with only 48 18^th 's until October 18, 2014!

I just returned from the Covenant Mass and the renewal of the Covenant
of Love in the Original Shrine; just like every 18^th , we gathered
spiritually with all of you in the Shrines, wayside shrines and
homehrines of the world. Many pilgrims visited the Original Shrine today
-- a man from Madrid who wanted to finally know the place of origin, a
couple from Bahia Blanca, Argentina, families of the German Family
Federation, and about 60 youth who were in Schoenstatt to prepare for
"Night of the Shrine", the large pilgrimage of German youth to Original
Shrine, which will be held next weekend. The large tent was set up in
the parking lot of House Marienau...The climax of Night of the Shrine is
the Covenant for the youth of the world, which is sealed at midnight in
the Original Shrine.

The youth were also in charge of the Covenant Mass and the renewal of
the Covenant of Love in the Original Shrine. There are always
anniversaries in Schoenstatt. But today, August 18, 2010 -- it is worth
mentioning. On August 18, 2009, the new design of the web page
schoenstatt.de <http://schoenstatt.de> appeared after a year of
preparation (there is also a more international address:
www.schoenstatt-mta.org <http://www.schoenstatt-mta.org>) Since that
day, it has received a half a million visits, exactly 654,335 visits. In
a large part this web page is your work, the work of all of us. For that
reason, I think that today it is worthwhile to celebrate it together.
There were visits from 124 countries of the world, among those countries
like Iran, Jamaica, Bulgaria, Laos, Lesotho, Tjikistan, Nepal, Guam and
Cambodia...where no one expected a Schoenstatt presence, or interest
about Schoenstatt. The visitors from these countries remained online up
to 23 minutes in a single visit.

During this year, translations that were published included: 749
articles in English, 995 in Spanish, 795 in German, 490 in Portuguese,
and 689 in Italian. There were 11 commentaries from Italian readers, 54
in Portuguese, 69 in English and hundreds in German and even more in
Spanish...

But it is not only about numbers. behind each one of the articles that
is published, as well as general information, there are one or more
people who write the text, one or more who take the photos, there are
people who edit and correct the texts with the standards of spelling and
journalism, others translate ( to four other languages), there people
who send the articles for bulletins, who download them to the web page
to correct errors that were missed by the editiors...in conclusion, each
news item, every piece of information goes through many hands -- and
many hearts -- before appearing on the web page at everyone's reach.
Besides the more than one thousand authors, there is a complete team of
dozens of translators and editors, programmers -- and they are all
volunteers, the majority from the United States and the Latin American
countries (moreover, there are two Italians, one South African and two
Germans on the team). Throughout the year youth from different countries
spend a few weeks or months as collaborators in the Schoenstatt Press
Office.

To make all this possible, some money is also needed. About 3000 Euros
annually are needed to maintain the web page including tools (from
computers to biromes?) server, electricity, coffee, cookies. All of this
was donated last year by people who collaborate in this way with what we
call schoenstatt.de of all of us.

We always need more collaborators. Especially translators and web designers.

At this time we especially need people who can translate

· from Italian to any other language

· from German to English or Spanish

· from Spanish or English to Portuguese

· from any language to German (this is urgent)

But there is more. This web page, just like the Shrine, lives from the
love of its visitors...it lives from the visits that become encounters,
and from encounters that become attachments.

*/_For all of this: Thank you very much for every visit!_/*_._

In Paraguay everything is ready for the opening of the Theatrical Work,
Kentenich: A Man, A Mission. This work will be presented on stage on
August 27th and 28th and in September on the 3rd, 4th, 8th, 10th, 11th,
and 17th at the Paraguayan Japanese Center at 8:30 p.m.

In Schoenstatt, four seminarians of the Schoenstatt Fathers from Nigeria
are preparing for their diaconate ordination on September 5th.

From the Original Shrine, I bid you farewell, imploring the MTA and
Father Kentenich for abundant blessings for each one of you,

Sister Kornelia
